You're invited to join us in the fun and challenging sport of baton twirling! The FantastiX Baton Team practices at Mt. Pleasant School east of Washougal, Washington, and it's open to everyone, boys and girls. Twirlers learn new physical skills, develop their coordination and dexterity, make friends with other children, and have opportunities for performances. All these benefits result in a growth in self-confidence and pride.
The coach, Katy Anholt, has been involved in the sport for many years. As a twirler herself, she has competed locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally. She has also been trained by the United States Twirling Association and is a certified coach.
Twirlers can twirl with the free CLUB, and if they decide this is the best sport in the world, they can join the TEAM. There is a lot of information on these pages to help you decide your level of involvement.
The FantastiX Baton Team and Club is open to children from primary grades through high school.
The team shares their sport with the public at retirement homes and in parades. Everyone enjoys watching them perform! In addition to improving gross and fine motor skills and teaching musicality, participating in a baton twirling increases the athletes' poise and self-confidence.
FantastiX Baton Team members compete in Washington and Oregon baton contests. These five twirlers competed in the Western Regional Championship in California.
